the unimportance of being about church
that I do mean Eve's dude - was a little boy. I went to church. Yes i
can feel the gasps coming from my avid readers - all three thousand of
them - except the one sitting behind the door winking mischievously
because he didn't get what I said.
This not your run-off-the-mill churches where you get in and then out
without anyone noticing you. It was in an open area and the entrance
though at the back meant that you were seen by all, yes that bloke who
we haven't seen since the rhodesia is back. And oh he has a beard and
he has locks. Oh my. Tsk tsk!
So i rode the wave and almost enjoyed it. You see i was with another
errant former churchgoer turned wordly entertainer and all that other
rubbish. Yes, the type that they don't want around. That dude. We were
then the focus of some attention. Then when i had to leave this other
girl or girls or well, some people decided to comment on the radio
show. It was like oh, yeah, i am famous now. What to do about it?
Maybe get a dog? Or err... Well, as long as I don't go back to church...

the folly about being a foreigner
Now that is the thing, everywhere I went people wanted to show me the real South Africa and I was like hmm, ok let's think about that for a moment. Not that I don't want to go deep into Alexandria but come on man, how about asking me what I am interested in.
So I was sitting in Harare at the book Cafe yesterday and I was chatting with these two friends of mine from the Netherlands and the lady lamented about how she never really went out and that the time she did go out she was taken to Chez Ntemba, which is all very well except that it is a hive for prostitution. And she was not feeling that sort of scene. Thing is, her handlers probably thought that just because she is white she wanted to see the real Zimbabwe. And I am thinking I am Zimbabwean and I don't want to see that Zimbabwe because my reality is elsewhere.
But I guess if it aint dinghy it aint really

of free internet and a beautiful smile
Well they had been a Book Cafe regular till recently and with the charges that are in effect for ZOLspot packages nowadays people are frequenting the hotspots less. Doesnt mean that the Book Cafe has any less people onlune but fact is the former regulars have done an elvis and left the building.
Enter Sopranos, where you can have an Italian style meal in very very, errr urbane surroundings and, wait for it - surf the internet for free for as long as you like. Yes alongside their paid-for ZOLspot service they have their own hotspot and as long as you buy something, you can surf the internet to your heart's content.
Of course we are not talking broadband speeds here but it is enough to check your mail and do some general albeit light browsing.
And just to boot, there is a girl there with a smile that is for the ages. Oh, that smile.

mugabe continues to defy evens and odds
Yeah so they are buddies now, Morgan and Bob. Son and Father type thing and it must irritate a few people and have them feeling sick. Now some people will say it is politics but how much does Tendai Biti know about the process at the moment. I mean seriously.
Anyway that is running off from the centre when it comes to the subject at hand. You see then what happened was when ol' Bobby Mugz arrived at the inauguration thingy he received a standing ovation from the South African branch of ZANU(PF) also known in some circles as ANC.
Them lot who thought he was a such a goner were astounded and this was like hectic. Of course that other geriatri, Nelsn what's-his-face, the first president of the Republic received the bigger applause including bowing and all that sort of thing.
But for Bobby along with the Colonel from up north, Gadaffi(Mumu to his friends) it was something, yes, something.
Shows the survival instinct of this man, who many thought was beyond repair.
Why? Even some of his critics in Zimbabwe are warming up to him and even dreading the day when the statement The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe is not appended by...
